Music, face-paint, sunglasses and 40's are just a few of the words used to describe the epic success of Whatdanceparty.com's premiere event. "What Dance Fest 09," was more than just a celebration of great beats, but rather a collaboration of Rock n Roll, photography and personal expression. Reminiscent of the good old days of free love and peace, the Festival was not just another college party.
While performers "The Reflectickles," "The Strugglers," "Pet My Pelican," "Stewjamboree" and "The Circut," set the mood, the neon, sequins and gratuitous amounts of beer and vodka kept the crowd moving.
All i can say is that, if you weren't there, you missed out. But if you blacked out, luckily there are tons of pictures. The all day backyard extravaganza was definitely worth Sean's efforts to get his parents out of the house, and while hopefully they won't find out, Mr. Gaynor would definitely be proud of his son's more than commendable organization of such an event. However, whoever left the beer bottles in his parents room definitely owes Sean an apology.... Unfortunately, I don't think any of us are capable of remembering who it was.
Though I chose to rock a bright yellow Starburst/Pineapple dress and heels (a choice of footwear I would not recommend for future partygoers), the overall fashion theme of the night matched the mood in its laid back, hippy, anything goes, rocker atmosphere. Meanwhile, LMU's own innovative artists "American Spirit Ecletic" such as Hilary Wooton, and purple haired cutie, Jaynie Lynne Sanchez, added to the entertainment by painting works of art on the faces of almost every party goer. I have to commend them, because honestly if I had the brush in my hand, everyone would have gotten "Summer Hights High's" dictation all over their faces... and as I learned the hard way, nobody really appreciates that.
If the beautiful, sunny day could get any better, as the sunset reigned in a gorgeously warm evening the Band's gave-way to some amazing DJ's, "ANDY AND PACHY," "Sam Allman" and "DASH!!!" People partied on to the early hours of the morning despite the cops best efforts. All in all, I would have to give the event two thumbs up for an amazing saturday day-fade. A big thank you to everyone involved especially those who took part in organizing event. The only thing I have left to say is.. how freaking happy I was not to have to help clean up.
